Transparency
How we handle requests for user information, and our commitment to being open about it.
Last updated: July 23, 2026
1.Our commitment
Trust depends on transparency. We believe you deserve to understand how XWave responds to requests for user information and how we protect your data when those requests arrive. This page explains our approach.
2.Government and legal requests
From time to time, governments and law-enforcement agencies may request user information. When we receive a request, we:
- Require valid legal process appropriate to the request and jurisdiction.
- Review each request carefully for legal sufficiency and scope.
- Push back on requests that are overbroad, vague, or improper.
- Provide only the information we are legally required to provide.
3.We can only share what we have
Because XWave is built around collecting as little information as possible, there is often very little for us to provide. We can't hand over data we never collected or no longer retain. Data minimization is one of the strongest protections we can offer — see our Privacy Policy for details.
4.Notifying users
Where we are legally permitted to do so, we aim to notify users about requests for their information before disclosing it, so they have an opportunity to seek to protect their rights. In some cases, the law prohibits us from giving notice.
5.Emergency requests
In genuine emergencies involving a risk of death or serious physical harm, we may respond to appropriately verified requests on an expedited basis, consistent with applicable law.
6.Transparency reporting
As XWave grows, we intend to publish periodic transparency reports summarizing the requests we receive and how we respond, to the extent the law allows. We'll share those reports here when they're available.
